Patios & pool decks
The backyard is where you find out whether a contractor thinks about how people actually use a space, or just pours to the property line. A patio has to drain. A pool deck has to be safe wet. A hot tub surround has to take the weight and the water for years. None of that shows in a photo — it shows in July, three summers from now.
We build outdoor spaces to be used hard and hold up, whether it’s a full sunken-pool build or a patio you’ll live on all summer.
What we do
- Patios — poured and finished for the way the yard actually gets used, with drainage planned in.
- Pool decks & surrounds — safe underfoot when wet, and built to take pool chemistry and weather.
- Sunken pools — the concrete architecture around an in-grade pool (see the Edgemont project).
- Hot tub spaces — surrounds and pads that carry the load and set the tub apart from the main pool (see Marine).
- Thermally-treated / thermowood decking — paired with concrete for warmth underfoot and longevity outdoors.
- Backyard living areas — the whole space designed together, tight city lot or big West Van yard (see Kitsilano).
