Board-formed & decorative concrete

The feature work — walls, floors, counters and one-off pieces. This is the deep end of what we do.

“Architectural concrete” gets used loosely. For us it means the concrete is the finish, not the thing you cover up — so every form, every pour, every edge has to be right the first time, because there’s no trim to hide behind. For the overview of our architectural concrete work, start on the homepage; this page is the detail.

Twenty years in, this is the work we’re known for. Board-formed walls that keep the grain of the lumber. Exposed aggregate that shows the stone. Polished floors, poured counters, benches and tables that started as a sketch on the back of something.

What we do

Why it’s harder than it looks

Concrete is unforgiving. It goes where the forms tell it and it remembers every mistake. Getting a board-formed wall to read clean, or a counter to cure without a hairline you’ll notice in the right light, is the difference between twenty years of practice and a first attempt. That’s the part you’re hiring.
