Stairs, walkways & retaining walls
This is the structural, grade-fighting corner of the business, and on North Shore lots it’s a big one. Steep sites need retaining done properly or the yard ends up somewhere it shouldn’t. Stairs have to be safe, sit right with the slope, and look effortless doing both. Walkways are the first thing anyone sees.
It’s also where a lot of our repair work lives — because a set of spalled, crumbling front steps doesn’t always need replacing. Sometimes it needs someone who knows what can be saved.
What we do
- Concrete stairs — entrance stairs, garden stairs, grade-heavy runs. Safe, solid, and clean-lined (see British Properties).
- Walkways & pathways — modern architectural approaches, entrance paths, the first impression (see Lonsdale).
- Retaining walls — holding grade on steep lots, engineered to actually do the job.
- Step & stair repair — salvaging spalled, crumbling concrete where it makes sense to.
A quick word on repair
Not everything needs to be torn out. In Danny’s words, on one job:
“The old steps were actually spalled out and crumbling. The clients said we want them to look good, but can you salvage the handrails? We said — SAY LESS.”
If you’ve got something that’s seen better days, ask. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a repair or a replacement.
