Edgemont — concrete architecture around a sunken pool
North Vancouver · Architectural concrete, Patios & pool decks

A sunken pool is a commitment. You’re cutting into the grade, managing water on two fronts — the pool and everything the ground throws at it — and the concrete around it has to look composed while doing a lot of structural work below the surface.
Edgemont was exactly that: concrete architecture built around a sunken pool, on a North Van lot where the slope and the drainage don’t do you any favours. The finish had to hold up to sun, water, and the freeze-thaw that comes with a North Shore winter, and still read clean.
This is the kind of job the “architectural” in architectural concrete is actually for.
